Abstract
For pt.I see abstr. A82643 of 1974. Relativistic Hartree-Fock calculations of the electron charge density at the nucleus are given for many rare earth ionic configurations. These are used in conjunction with previous results to re-estimate the change in the nuclear mean-square charge radius Delta (r2) for eight rare earth Mossbauer isotopes. Quantitative comparisons are then made of the relative contributions to the isomer shift of covalency and conduction electrons in seven of the rare earths. Keywords
