Abstract
To summarize briefly, it is time that work was done on: 1. (1) The stages of the human part of the schistosome life cycle that are affected by natural and acquired resistance. 2. (2) The factors stimulating this resistance, and the production of antigens by the tissues of the different developmental stages. 3. (3) The antigens responsible for the diagnostic tests. 4. (4) The possibility of effects that may give rise to resistance without the intervention of the usual antibody activities. 5. (5) The action on the worm of antibodies proved to exist in human serum. 6. (6) The differences if an between the method of formation of antibodies in premunition and in true immunity. 7. (7) The advisability of not tampering too much with an acquired immunity before the age of 40 in hyperendemic areas, And the indications for symptom-relieving treatment as opposed to heroic curative treatment. 8. (8) The doubtful possibility of artificially raising resistance. Keywords
