Abstract
The large majority of newts (T. rivularis) displaced for distances up to 8 miles oriented their departure from the release site in the homeward direction. However, the accuracy of orientation decreased with increasing distance of displacement, possibly suggesting that the animals were responding to sensory cues (olfactory?) originating from the home environment. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
