Abstract
This article reports the results of an unobtrusive bibliometric analysis 2,270 journal articles on learning disabilities that appeared in 248 journals published between 1968 and 1983. The study sought to determine (1) the quantity of articles being published, (2) the most frequently cited core journals that publish the largest percentage of articles} (3) the relative scatter of information acmss journal sources, (4) the increase in information and the temporal distrihtion ofthe journal articles} and (5) the most fequent general themes that appear in the journal literature. The findings of the research provide general insight into the structure of the pmary literature in the fieki of learning disabilities; this literature serves as an important formal information source for researchers and practitioners.
