Abstract
A case of bilateral hydrops of the labyrinth has been presented. In one ear the process involved both the cochlear and the vestibular parts of the labyrinth. In the other ear the hydrops was limited to the cochlea. On the basis of this case as well as 11 other ears with hydrops of the so-called idiopathic type and in comparison with a comparable number of cases of hydrops secondary to a variety of diseases of the labyrinth in the author''s collection, some discussion of pathogenesis and the cause of functional disturbances has been offered. This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
