Abstract
Criteria for switching-surge design of uhv tower insulation are discussed on the basis of test results obtained at Project UHV. Basic design curves and correction factors are presented. This information makes it possible to evolve preliminary designs of basic tower insulation for system voltages up to 1500 kV.Keywords
