Comparison of recent high-pdata with the effective-gluon model

Abstract
The effective-gluon (EG) model of high-p inclusive scattering is compared to recently published Fermilab data. The EG model is shown to describe accurately the observed features of the data for the production of π0, π±, K±, p, and p¯. Features of the model which are independent of the exact nature of the quark distribution and decay functions are discussed.
