Abstract
This paper describes a patient with hypogammaglobulinemia who is believed to represent the rarer form of the congenital type. The metabolism of I-131 gamma globulin is studied in this patient and compared with 2 control subjects. Plasma 1-131 disappearance and in vivo count curves indicate that the hypogammaglobulinemia patient lost the radioactivity at a slower rate than the normal subjects. The total urinary excretion of 1-131 and the rate of degradation of gamma globulin were less in the patient in comparison to the controls. It is concluded that the hypogammaglobulinemia subject conserved gamma globulin as compared to the normals. Keywords
