Abstract
Salmonellosis is a leading cause of foodborne illness in the United States, resulting in an estimated 800,000 to 4 million infections each year.1 Approximately 25% of all salmonellosis cases reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are caused by a single serotype, Typhimurium.2
