Abstract
In a recent paper Gust and Royce have presented some equation of state data and given evidence of an electronic interaction during the compression of the rare‐earth metals. We have shown that their data are in agreement with an anharmonicity postulate and the coefficients in the compression equation, −Δ V/V0 = a 1p + a 2p2 + a 3p3, have been calculated. The anharmonicity coefficient , was found to be −1.58.
