Abstract
A highly efficient resolution of (±)-1-octyn-3-ol through recrytallization of the diastereomeric esters has been achieved by using N-(p-toluenesulfonyl)-(S)-phenylalanyl chloride as resolving reagent. The method provides a facile and economical entry to (S)-1-octyn-3-ol, a valuable building block for the synthesis of arachidonic acid metabolites. Keywords
