Abstract
Two experiments were conducted to study the methionine requirement of weanling pigs fed a ration containing 22% protein from isolated soybean protein and brewers' dried yeast. From the data obtained, the methionine plus cystine requirement for weanling pigs appears to be approximately 0.7% of the ration containing 22% protein. This corresponds to 3.2% of the protein. Cystine apparently can be used to replace methionine in the ration up to at least 1.7% of the protein. Keywords
