Abstract
Researchers from many disciplines convened on 10 to 12 September 1990 at the National Institutes of Health to discuss vitamin C, its biologic functions, and its relation to cancer. Sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, the conference provided a forum for the presentation of data on the biologic and clinical actions of vitamin C. The data caused many participants to reconsider the importance of this agent in physiologic and clinical events. Vitamin C participates in numerous physiologic processes, many of which may have clinical implications. For instance, it isKeywords
