Abstract
Nonlinear shift of the ion gyrofrequency by the electrostatic ion cyclotron wave is shown to detune the resonance between the ion cyclotron wave and the ion drift wave, thereby stabilizing the drift-cyclotron instability. Solution to the resulting wave equation exhibits nonlinear oscillations. Keywords
