Abstract
A serine-derived 1,5-dioxaspiro[3.2]hexane template is shown to be a useful precursor for both aminodiol and aminotriol sphingoid bases by its conversion to d-erythro-dihydrosphingosine and d-xylo-phytoshingosine.Keywords
