Observation of ${\bar{B}}^{0} \to D^{(*) 0} p \bar{p}$

Abstract

The

B

meson decay modes

B \to D p \bar{p}

and

B \to D^{*} p \bar{p}

have been studied using

29.4 f b^{- 1}

of data collected with the Belle detector at KEKB. The

{\bar{B}}^{0} \to D^{0} p \bar{p}

and

{\bar{B}}^{0} \to D^{* 0} p \bar{p}

decays have been observed for the first time with branching fractions

B ({\bar{B}}^{0} \to D^{0} p \bar{p}) = (1.18 \pm 0.15 \pm 0.16) \times 10^{- 4}

and

B ({\bar{B}}^{0} \to D^{* 0} p \bar{p}) = ({1.20}_{- 0.29}^{+ 0.33} \pm 0.21) \times 10^{- 4}

. No signal has been found for the

B^{+} \to D^{+} p \bar{p}

and

B^{+} \to D^{* +} p \bar{p}

decay modes, and the corresponding upper limits at

90 %

C.L. are presented.
