Abstract
A critical review of the literature on research and theory pertaining to speech problems of the mongoloid retardate is presented. The topics covered were: symbolization (receptive and expressive aspects), articulation, rhythm, and phonation. The possible relationships between predisposing mongoloid stigmata and specific speech and language deviations were discussed. A study of these relationships would facilitate prevention and treatment of the various deviate speech patterns in the mongoloid. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
