Abstract
Priscol (10 mg. intraven.) in hypertensive patients without congestive heart failure caused either a small rise of venous pressure or an insignificant drop. In patients with congestive failure there was a constant drop of venous pressure, especially in patients with cor pulmonale. The drop of venous pressure was usually accompanied by a fall in arterial pressure. The authors concluded that the fall in venous pressure was due to the sympatholytic action on venous tone. Keywords
