Abstract
The experimental performance of a diverged electron beam ion diode, high brightness and high efficiency light ion diode for inertial confinement fusion, is presented. Diode brightness of 1.4 TW/cm2rad2 and ion efficiency up to 20% was obtained in 5 Ω diode operation. Experimental results were scaled to low impedance operation with further high brightness and high efficiency ion diode. Keywords
