Abstract
The temperature dependence of the dc Josephson critical supercurrent has been measured for square lead‐zinc‐lead (superconductor‐normal metal‐superconductor) junctions in order to make a quantitative study of self‐field effects. Correction for the critical current density, Jc, due to the self‐field effect is made by using the linearized two‐dimensional model proposed by Vaglio. We calculate the temperature dependence of the Josephson penetration depth, λJ and find Jc to be proportional to (1−T/Tc)2 in the range where λJ is comparable to the junction width, W.This publication has 18 references indexed in Scilit:
