Abstract
The Bekesy audiograms of 434 subjects tested at the hearing clinic of Northwestern University Medical School over a 3-year period were qualitatively reviewed. Most tracings can be placed into 1 of 4 categories on the basis of the relationship between tracings of periodically interrupted and continuous tonal stimuli. It is possible to distinguish lesions of the middle ear, the cochlea, and the eighth nerve by the 4 Bekesy types. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
