Abstract
An operator‐valued generalization of Chandrasekhar’s H‐function satisfies a nonlinear integral equation. A bifurcation analysis of this equation gives an analytic continuation of the H‐function. This result is applied to a criticality problem in neutron transport theory, and asymptotic results are obtained.Keywords
