Abstract
The use of localized positive feedback and nonlinearity error correction has led to an `open loop' amplifier with a gain-bandwidth product up to 1 GHz using a conventional IC process. The circuit achieves a bandwidth of 20 MHz at a gain of 30, and a bandwidth of 10 MHz at a gain of 100. Linearity for a 1 V/SUB p-p/ output signal is 0.1 percent over a gain range that is programmable from zero to above 100.
