Abstract
We have studied the low-energy (d,γHe reaction based on a microscopic description of the nuclear wave functions. Our study reproduces the experimental reaction cross sections at E≤3 MeV; it allows for an extrapolation of the data to energies relevant for big-bang nucleosynthesis resulting in a cross section about 35 times higher than given in present compilations. Our results indicate a D-state admixture in the ground state of ≊5–7 %.
