Abstract
Synthesis and absolute configuration of chiral 2, 3, 10, 11‐tetrahydroxy‐8‐methylberbines [3].The synthesis and absolute configuration of the four optically active berbines Xa, b and XIa, b are described. These compounds consitute potential ‘alkaloids’ obtained by condensation of either R‐(+) or S‐(−)‐norlaudanosoline (THP, III) with acetaldehyde, a major metabolite of ethanol.This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
