Abstract
An efficient and reliable algorithm for solving the Dirac equation for core-state wavefunctions in the presence of a spin-dependent potential is presented. The approach is applied to calculate the contributions to the hyperfine field of Fe, Co and Ni stemming from non-s core electrons. Keywords
