Abstract
Fully relativistic calculations of the magnetic moments and hyperfine fields of the ferromagnetic metals Fe, Co and Ni are presented. The chosen approach is based on the multiple scattering version of the Green function method and treats spin polarisation and all relativistic effects on the same level. As a consequence orbital magnetic moments and also, for the first time, orbital contributions to the hyperfine fields of these metals were accessible to a calculation. Keywords
