Abstract
In 5 of 6 liver samples from females using oral contraceptives with elevated SGOT and SGPT filamentous mitochondrial inclusions in varying frequences were demonstrated on electron microscopy. The inclusions were not found in any of 6 control biopsies from 4 healthy individuals and 2 patients with other hepatic disorders. The inclusions consisted of filaments with a diameter of about 70 Å arranged in bundles parallel to the length axis of the mitochondria. Keywords
