Abstract
Administration of growth hormone to rats produced an increase in the serum protein level. All electrophoretic fractions increased, those of the alpha2 and gamma fractions most markedly. A small increase of the protein-bound carbohydrate level was also found which electrophoretic analysis showed was due to an increase of both proteins and carbohydrates in all the electrophoretic fractions except beta globulin, in which the carbohydrate/protein ratio was depressed for the whole period of observation.
