Abstract
Mice have been selectively inbred for high or low juxtaglomerular (JG) indices for 4 generations. This resulted in separation of statistically distinct lines with high and low JG indices. It was shown that the JG index used was approximately normally distributed in these lines. The mice selected for a high JG index had a slightly but significantly lower blood pressure than mice selected for a low JG index or unselected mice. There was a negative linear relationship between adrenal weight and JG index in females but not in males. (Endocrinology76: 486, 1965)
