Abstract
Elastic single scatterings of mesons by nuclei of a dilute photographic emulsion have been experimentally measured for energies between 30 and 80 Mev. Accurate numerical calculations of the differential scattering cross sections have been carried out by solving a Klein-Gordon wave equation for an optical-model potential of the Woods-Saxon form. Experimental and theoretical results are in good agreement both on an absolute and on a relative-variation basis if the real part of the -nuclear potential is attractive. The connection with low-energy -nucleon scattering is discussed.
