Abstract
The results of a series of experiments, in which the processes of contact voltage drop and ring wear in sliding contact are demonstrated by means of a direct method, are presented in this paper. The results show that the wear of metalgraphite brushes and the rings upon which they operate can be reduced if they be operated in an oxygen-free gas instead of air. Keywords
