Abstract
The Mori formalism is used to study the nuclear response function at finite temperatures. This formalism rather naturally leads to an extension of the zero-temperature random-phase approximation for finite temperatures, and it provides a prescription for the calculaton of the damping widths of vibrational states at finite temperatures. Keywords
