Abstract
We discuss some of the consequences of scaling freedom in a one-dimensional atom model. We show that results already obtained with this model for a specified ionization energy and laser intensity can easily be reinterpreted for other ionization potentials and intensities. One example relevant to the experimental realizability of atom stabilization and wave function localization in strong fields is worked out explicitly. Keywords
