Electro-optic data for uniaxially drawn polyvinylidene fluoride are presented. Measurements at successively increasing fields show a hysteresis effect. The observed electro-optic hysteresis is compared with theoretical predictions of hysteresis in ferroelectric ceramics. Keywords
