Abstract
We investigated faculty and graduate students' judgments about mentoring women in academia. Overall ratings of important characteristics of mentors were similar to those reported in empirical and descriptive literature. Differences in the women's ratings were not related to demographic characteristics. However, women who were seeking mentors, had mentors, or had been mentors for others, did have different evaluations of this relationship. Keywords
