Abstract
The geometrical branching model, which has been successful in describing multiparticle production in hadron-hadron and hadron-nucleus collisions, is extended to the case of nucleus-nucleus collisions at high energy. We discuss the issue related to the collision between broken nucleons. The calculated result is in good agreement with the data. We show that the multiplicity and transverse-energy distributions of the produced particles are insensitive to the detail properties of hadronization. Measurable quantities that could reveal relevant information on them are suggested. Keywords
