Abstract
Specific observations are made regarding the properties of the rapidity-interval dependence of multiplicity distributions in hadron-hadron collisions at high energy. They are presented as focal points for theoretical interpretation. The geometrical branching model is developed to account for the dependence on the rapidity interval. From the data on the normalized moments, information on the impact-parameter dependence of the productivity distribution is extracted. Keywords
