Formins Set the Record Straight

Abstract
Actin is an important structural element of the cell that is important for cellular processes as diverse as cell division, movement, and intracellular transport. To carry out these different processes, actin is assembled into diverse structures composed of straight or branched filaments. In their Perspective, Chang and Peter discuss new work ( Pruyne et al.) that identifies formin proteins as important initiators of the assembly of straight actin filaments.
