Abstract
The relative effectiveness of fast neutrons with respect to high-energy X-rays in the creation of stable free radicals was investigated. Alanine powder was used as the test material and the concentrations of free radicals compared in an ESR spectrometer. Both the accuracy and the precision of the measurements show a considerable improvement over those reported previously, with a final uncertainty of less than 8% on the value of 0.65.This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
