Genetic Variants of Properdin Factor B (Bf) in Papio hamadryas Baboons

Abstract

Immunofixation of serum samples from 810 Papio hamadryas for properdin factor B demonstrated three alleles BfsupS/supsubPh/sub, BfsupF/supsubPh/sub and BfsupF0.70/supsubPh/sub with gene frequencies of 0.6438, 0.2951 and 0.0611 respectively. 50 pedigrees were used to demonstrate autosomal codominant inheritance of this protein.
