Abstract
Recent measurements of the x-ray and Auger line strengths in Li-like neon produced by 45-MeV → Ne collisions are compared with theoretical values. We assume that in the collision there is a statistical population of configurations and multiplet states. An overpopulation of the and configurations (relative to the ) is observed. We suggest cascade feeding as a likely mechanism for producing this effect.
