Abstract
The effect of penultimate cavity frequency tuning on the efficiency enhancement of a gyroklystron amplifier is considered. It is found that the enhancement is significant for a good-quality electron beam but can be degraded by velocity spread. Physical interpretation of the principles involved is discussedKeywords
