Abstract
The solubility of 133Xe and 85Kr in liver tissue with varying lipid content measured enzymatically as triglyceride was determined in vitro. The influence of phospholipids was found to be unimportant. The error of the method is constant (S.D. 0.7) at lipid concentrations below 5%, and increases to about 5 at a hepatic lipid content of 25%. These results can be used for the estimation of hepatic lipid content and perfusion in vivo by the tissue clearances of 133Xe and 85Kr.Keywords
