Abstract
A theory is presented for the nonlinearly saturated levels of Langmuir and acoustic waves produced by parametric instabilities. The theory accounts for the perturbation of particle orbits by waves. The results are quantitatively compared with recent simulations by Kruer and Dawson. Keywords
