Primary Psoas Abscess: Case Report and Review of Literature

Abstract
A case [human] of a primary non-tuberculous psoas abscess is reported and the literature is reviewed. Most psoas abscesses are secondary to extension of inflammatory processes from adjacent structures. Primary psoas abscess is a relatively rare condition and is usually staphylococcal in nature. The pathophysiology, clinical presentation and treatment are discussed.
