Abstract
Beer''s law is not obeyed by solns. of azobilirubin in concn. corresponding to more than 1.6 mg. bilirubin/100 ml. of final soln. In concn. more than 4 mg./l00 ml., absorption density increases only slightly with concn. 3 types of reaction are observed (prompt, biphasic, and delayed) and account for failure of Beer''s law. It is concluded that most measurements of bilirubin reported in the literature are probably not valid. Keywords
