Abstract
Twenty three serologically distinct adenovirus types are described, of which 18 were recovered from humans, 4 from monkeys, and 1 from a chimpanzee. The types from different species differed in their tropisms for human and simian cells in tissue culture. The majority of type 7 strains studied were serologically distinguishable from the prototype strain, and are classed as "7a" strains. Keywords
