Abstract
The optical nonlinearity, lowest band-gap energy, and other related parameters of some mixed chalcopyrites have been evaluated following the bond-charge model of Levine and the approach of Samanta, Ghosh, and Bhar [Phys. Rev. B 33, 4145 (1986)]. The close agreement of these with the experimental values justifies further the validity of our approach and throws more light on understanding the mechanism governing the actual processes occurring in these crystals. Keywords
