Abstract
We propose a phase-field model for the kinetics of isothermal crystallization of an amorphous solid at a concentration nearly equal to the equilibrium crystal stochiometry. The model utilizes two coupled fields: a nonconserved ordering vector field which describes the local lattice structure and a conserved nonordering scalar field describing the local atomic composition. Results of large-scale computer simulations are reported which can be compared with experiments. Keywords
